Purchased a Generac because I thought it would be a good product. When the inverter arrived I unboxed it and prepared it for it's first start. It fire up as would a new engine and let it run for two to three minutes. Plugged in a drop light to make sure it worked. It sat for about a month until I took it to Canada to a remote cabin for emergency power. The power did actually go out three days into our trip. It was hot out so I fired up the generator (w/o anything plugged in of course) to run our frig. As soon as it started, it hardly ran, the overload light came on and smoke came out of it. I quickly turned it of and removed the airfilter access side panel to find melted wiring. The frig never got to run and about half our food was lost. I'm buying a Honda which I should've done in the first place.

Great Generator

This Generator is very quiet, easy to operate, and the 2000 watt version is light for the power it produces. I am very satisfied with this product. Make sure your power needs dont exceed what it can produce, the charts provided by Generac are very helpful. I would highly recommend this product!!
