I purchased last Fall and what a saw it was at first. I used it during the recomended break in period as directed, but after the break in period it would not hold chain oil, it seem the gasket is allowing all oil to flow out while not in use. I bought it online, so that makes it more difficult to get the problem solved, but it worked very well and still does if you constantly fill the chain oil.

Impossible to start on regular gas
Date:September 18, 2012
This chain saw works fine if you are able to get it going. We took it for service numerous times, but it remained difficult to start until we switched to premium gas. (The instructions do not warn you to use premium gas.) If you then turn it off, you have to wait a long time before it will start again. The other issue is that the chain is a custom size--61 links.

Hoping yet
Date:May 21, 2012
Bought it, got it ready, used for about 30 minutes. Got where the RPMs weren't enough to cut anymore. Contacted Manufacturer and have to take to a repair center. It cut great and ran good for those 30 minutes. I am hopefully it just has trash in the carb or needs a carb adjustment.

Good saw for the price
Date:May 16, 2012
I had never heard of the Earthquake chainsaw but thought I would give it a try. It seems to be a good saw with plenty of power. Had trouble getting it started the first time out of the box but has been good since then. Have only used it a couple of times so far so I will write again in a couple of months.

this saw works great cuts tree stumps 6''-12'' great were using it to clean up 13 acres pines , def has the power and a better price than Poland i like this better than poland s 18 in wild thing this has much more power , pretty easy to start after its primed took a lil at first but runs great stars easy since chain cuts great does clog up if you dont clean it after each use but i just blow all the stuf out like i do with my other saws when done and its been fine i broke this one in by adding a lil more oil to the gas (makes it a smoker ) just want to it have good brake in since i do the 50 to 1 and its fine , i hope others buy this and it can be bought in stores even though with shipping we had this in 4 days ..

Didn't Even Start
Date:April 2, 2011
I bought this chainsaw based on good reviews, but I was greatly disappointed. On top of a flimsy design, there were 3 main problems.
1. The manual is terrible. You can tell it was written either in a hurry or by someone who does not natively speak English. The diagrams are incorrect the instructions are incomplete.
2. The tension system is a pain. It took me about 45 minutes just to get the guide bar and chain attached and tensioned correctly. Better instructions would have made it easier, but it's not easy.
3. It wouldn't even start. I gassed it up and took it to our property ready to cut some logs. Spent the next 15-20 frustrated minutes trying to just start the chainsaw without success.

Great Value
Date:September 26, 2010
This chain saw works great out of the box. I used it only 2 hours but it worked flawlessley. The chainsaw seems built more cheaply than a husqvarna or stihl but for half the cost, this saw is worth it. It starts easily. The brake works great. The only operational flaw I see is the tensioning system is a bit awkward but it holds the tension well.
