WON'T HOLD UP
Date:February 16, 2012
I PURCHASED ONE LAST YEAR. I DON'T USE IT BUT A FEW MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR. THE SUPPORT BRACKETS KEEP BREAKING OFF. I HAD TO LITERALLY REBUILD IT AND BEEF IT UP TO USE IT.

A super product

I bought this to load and unload round bales of hay. It has worked very well. The bales were really large and heavy but it handled the job well. Very well built and will lift as much as the tractor can handle. Very happy with purchase.

Good Spike
Date:October 10, 2011
Needed a spike that was easy to attach to my front end loader on my 27hp tractor - works great for my puposes - use a little common sense and it should last a good while, would buy again.

Lite weight, needs more metal
Date:July 4, 2011
Bought last year. Would not purchase again. Twisted bar and stabilizers are constantly needing to be straightened. Spear broke off about 1' from the tip last week. It is priced cheap but it is made cheap & won't hold up when you need it. Not a desirable trait for a piece of equipment in farming or ranching.

hay spear a success
Date:December 23, 2010
having finally used my new bucket hay spear, I am very pleased with its stability and ease of attachment. I did not drill a hole in my bucket to secure it I merely used a ratcheting strap that I had laying around and it worked wonderfully. I also enjoyed a slightly greater reach than with my old spear because of its fit on the front of the bucket. I would recommend the purchase of this implement.

Watch out for this one
Date:August 19, 2010
I purchased this bale spear at our local TSC . It looked a little on the light built side but it was what was available so I got it. The very first use trying to lift a 4' round bale, the frame twisted and some welds broke making it not usable. I returned it the next day and I went to another TSC in a neighboring town hoping that it might be welded stronger. The second one did the exact same thing on the very first use. I finally took the Spikes off of this one and too it to a fabrication shop and had them build me a good one. This worked great for awhile but after a few uses, the new frame that I had held perfect but the spears all bent. I gave up! I fought the hay and the hay won! :-(

Good Idea Gone Bad
Date:January 31, 2010
We have a small farm and a small tractor, a Farmall 31. We thought this spear would save us time by not having to remove the bucket every time we needed to move a bale. Unfortunately, we spend more time trying to get the bale off the ground. First, we had to drill a hole in the bottom of the bucket to attach the spear =(. The spear attaches to the front of the bucket, which adds additional torque on the loader hydraulics. We can't lift the bale w/o counter weight on the back and now it seems we're stressing the loader hydraulics. We've only had this spear for a month and the stabilizer bar that connects the small side spears to the main spear is all ready twisting. I"m now investing more money and getting a rear spear. Don't waste your money.
