Disappointed
Date:February 24, 2013
I bought 12 of these kennels a few years ago and really liked them at first. I was told that the powder coating finish would not rust. Now virtually every kennel has rusted out bottom rails and several rusted out vertical tubes. When I wrote Behlen about the problem they didn't even respond. Half of the gate latches no longer work correctly so I have to use bungie cords to hold the gates closed. I paid a lot of money for this kennel set up including pouring concrete and installing a galvanized roof over the entire assembly. Now in order to replace all the rusted out panels I will have to disassemble the roof and spend a lot more money to buy quality panels or pay to have someone make new ones.
If I had known that the "Powder Coating Claim" of not rusting was a lie I would have never bought them to begin with. I wish now I had just paid a fencing company to build the same configuration out of galvanized tubing and galvanized 2x4 mesh panels.

I gave it a '1' because '0' wasn't available. This is a total waste of money if you have an outside dog that spends time in the kennel.
I wouldn't recommend these kennels. I puchased 6 kennels and spent several thousand dollars on them. I had them less than 2 years and began to see rust where the tubes meet. I reported this to TSC and was informed that the manufacturer didn't cover dog urine. I guess they expect my dogs to be trained not to urinate where the joints are.
Regardless it's been about 3 years and all the bottoms of the pannels have rusted. Some have rusted completely through and there is no tube left just the wire mesh. I have had to replace several panels with galvanized panels and will need to replace all 6 runs this spring.
Also when this begins to happen the powder coating begins to flake. You have to be careful that the large pieces aren't swalled by your pet, especially puppies.
Needless to say i'm not very pleased with TSC considering the sales person told me the panels wouldn't rust. So much for believing what the store clerk says. If it's not in writing don't assume the store will back up what an employee says.
Upon initial inspection they seemed like great kennels but i guess they are meant for dogs that don't spend much time in the kennel and know not to urinate on the tubes and especially not the joints.
A very disatisfied customer.

Great Kennel
Date:March 9, 2012
I love these kennels. I have two of these plus two 5X10 galvanized kennels. However you do need to know they WILL rust! I wish the 10X10 kennels came in galvanized metal instead of painted. My kennel door fell off recently because the hardware that holds the door in place rusted completely through and left a hole in behind the rusted hardware that holds the door in place. I have had mine for several years though. Other than this, I would highly recommend these kennels. I have Livestock Guardian Dogs that can escape anything. I did have to secure the top with cattle paneling because these dogs are crafty and figured out they could climb the welded wire like a ladder then jump down from the top.

Very nice

I found assembly, quality, fit and finish to be terrific. Only two nits to pick;
- many dogs have Houdini as their middle name, a better/more secure latch would be desired. Of course, a simple clip works but that's not pointed out until after you're home
- a shade/cover for this unit should be available, one that's easy to put up and lasts.
Overall, highly recommend.

Escape Artists Dream Come True
Date:January 5, 2012
I am so amazed how this kennel has changed our lives! Before day in and day out I was constantly dealing with our old chain link kennel because our dogs kept getting out everyday!! We had to put wire across the bottom of it because they would get out all the time. Then they stated on the door and was getting out there! It was ridiculous! They would dig massive holes. Our yard looked like a bomb shelter. It was awful! When we purchased this kennel it was easy to assemble, it looks great in our yard and it was spacious for both of our large breed dogs. I know it is a little pricey but we do love our pets even though they caused us all those problems. We wanted something better for them and us and then we bought this kennel rather than getting rid of them which is something we would never do. We are so glad we purchased it because it has been a dream come true. Our animals stay in their kennel, no more surprise breakouts and they are safe. Our yard looks great too, hole free! Thank you TSC for carrying this kennel. We really appreciate our sanity back!

Thank goodness I found this Tatar Kennel as TSC. My female lab could escape anything I put her in.
Wondering if your dog was going to be home when work was over was killing me. I dont have to worry now.
This kennel is very expensive but well worth the price. Considering the money I have invested in my labs.
I wont buy a regular kennel again.

BEWARE...
Date:June 12, 2011
After I got this kennel home I realized it is not a "Tarter" kennel. It is an inferior kennel made by "Behlen". When supposedly "Behlen" didn't make this size kennel. The "Behlen" kennel does not have knickel plated hardware. OR galvanized "Steel" tubing. OR the "lockable" slam shut latch. I am in the process of contacting Tractor Supply about this...so I will keep you posted on the outcome! Good Luck!!

Very Nice kennel
Date:August 28, 2010
I have been using this kennel for three years now, and have had no problems with it. No rusting whatsoever, the hinging is still very smooth, and the entire structure is still very sound. I house my police k-9 in this kennel, so it is very important to me that it is a safe and secure kennel. It has proven to be so.

We are a dog kennel and have purchased many kennels this year. We have been most please by this brand. We own american pit bull terriers and they tend to chew through normal kennels, and these they can't. So if you are looking for durabilit this is your product!!!

I have a Golden that I had to rename Houdini because no matter what I did with the old chainlink kennel, he would find a way out. I got to be on a first name basis with the local
SPCA as a result. I purchased on of these keneels with a couple of extra panels this sping and have not had a problem with him getting free since then. It was very easy to assemble and the best part is my wife even thinks it looks nice.

Best kennels you can buy
Date:March 24, 2010
I've bought 5 of these kennels and will buy more as
I have the money for them. I have them all together with door panels dividing them; I can shut doors to make smaller sections, or open doors to provide more room to roam around. Easy to put together, very strong and work a lot better than the chain link kennels. Only downside is sometimes they come damaged with the paint cracking off (if they have been damaged in shipment or by the forklift driver at the store) which allows rust to form.
The price is a little high in my opinion which is why I only buy them if they are on sale or I get a coupon. I use them for escape artist dogs or to hold all the strays that get dumped out on me & need temporary shelter. Because I have some super climbers I put wire across the top, but shade cloths work as well.

10x10x6 welded wire kennel
Date:March 20, 2010
This kennel is a Godsend! My 7mo old pitbull pup "found" her way out of the chain link kennel I bought no matter what I did to keep her in it!!! This kennel is the best and is a "steal" or should I say "robbery" for the price. I would recommend this kennel to any large breed dog owner! Thanks Tractor Supply!!!

Great for strong dogs
Date:March 19, 2010
This kennel is strong, it holds my dogs that can bend chainlink kennels. Nice small spacing keeps the dogs from grabbing each other thru the panels. Even keeps in baby goats and rabbits. I own three plus bought extra panels to extend the sizes. I also ordered the swing out feeder, great for dogs that don't like strangers feeding them when I'm out of town.

An excellent deal. Strong enough to protect young animals from predators. We use it to keep the puppies in until they've grown a little and can be trained.

Great Value!

I bought two kennels along with two extra gate panels to add to kennels I already have. They are really sturdy and well built. I especially appreciate the fact that they're powder coated which keeps my male's urine from rusting them. I would absolutely recommend these kennels to anyone with active dogs like Siberians.
