I bought 2 of these go karts for my grandchildren this Christmas. They got them on Christmas eve morning and we couldn't hold them back. We were in the middle of a blizzard and they bundled up and hopped on. They had so much fun that the adults decided to go out. We put 50 miles on each one that day. I think we will have a permanent track going around our house. I am thinking about buying another one so if they bring friends over they will have an extra one. So far they have been reliable and sturdy. Its almost spring and they each have over 200 miles on them...they are fun in the mud too!

A Pain to maintain
Date:November 24, 2010
The go kart is a blast to ride but the designer of the air filter case has never changed the filter or they would not have put the screws in the position they are in now. I just changed the oil for the first time and the drain plug will drain right down the chain guard so again the designer should do a little maintenance on the unit to make this machine easier to operate. Other than these items, so far it has been a great machine.

this thing is great. the first time i sat in it i was in love. and when i stepped on the gas i tore out of the drive way. being able to go over 40 mph makes it eligible to get legalized for street use. i have my friend in and we ride all the time. its easy to mod if thats what youre into. its just an overall fun ride. i recommend strapping an extra 5 gallon gas tank to the rear rack. the gas tank only holds a gallon and three quarters.

tough little monster
Date:October 3, 2010
I did not buy my go kart but i traded a four wheeler to my brother in law, he had it for little over a year and had an accident on it cause he hit a tree going to fast around a turn anyway i think it was a good trade and it is a tough machine i flipped it on the highway going about 35 and it landded on its top and slid to a stop i got out flipped it over started it back up and took off, that go kart has been put through some serious stuff and is still going, only down fall is the back rims cant hold up to a lot of stress but if you got a welder that is an easy fix like i said it is a tough little monster.

A bad thing!
Date:August 25, 2010
I purchased this in April 2010 and the boys put about 100 miles on it and the belt broke in the engine. You think it would be covered under the warranty but guess what, it's not that is in the fine print like about a dozen other things. I don't recommend this buggy to anyone the company needs to stand behind their products longer than 30 days! There should be a min warranty of 6 months for any vehicle like this. My advice is DO NOT BUY THIS it's not worth the money!

A great purchase
Date:August 19, 2010
We purchased this go cart at the end of last year (2009) for our son whom has Autism, to try and get him out of the house and enjoy the great outdoors. We live in Grayling, Mi. and had to drive 30 min. one way to Gaylord, Mi. to purchase the go cart. When we got home and had taken the go cart off the truck bed, the reverse did not work on it, had to drain the gas, load it and drive it back to Gaylord- to exchange it and then drove back home and it would not drive forward. We called the store and an employee came out to see what the problem was, good thing it was fixable so we decided to take out an additional warranty because we had so many problems from the get go. Our son does not drive it as often as we had hoped, but it is a very nice go cart and glad that we purchased it.

Even though we have had to replace the wheel, throttle cable, chain, tires, and the carburetor cleaned, this product was well worth it. We are two young women who have had more fun on this thing than any person can imagine!! We have taken it through terrain others would not dare. It has been drove very hard and it is still going. we are thinking about modifying it tomorrow so we will have a windshield. It has been great to carry children on as well, but then it becomes the girls turns and we sure do have a blast. It cuts do-nuts like no other. If you are looking for something for you and a friend to do, get one of these and go on an "adventure." :)

Not To Good !!!!!!!!
Date:June 28, 2010
I bought this go cart a little over a year ago. My son only rides it on weekends & it has about 80 miles on it. In the last 2 months the throttle cable has broken, one of the back wheels has broken, one of the front spindles has broken, I've had to replace the belt twice,& now there's a oil leak coming out of the crankcase causing the belts to burn up. And when you shift it to reverse it's hard to get it back into drive. Most of the time you have to turn it off to get it to switch back. And to top it off when you need parts you have to order them directly from american sportworks and they are not cheap. My advice to anyone looking for a go cart is to not buy this one.

Bought for older GrandSons-Most Fun for Grandpa
Date:June 23, 2010
This is absolutely TOP OF THE LINE/<MOST FOR YOUR MONEY> High Quality, and loads and loads of fun to ride. Believe it our not - Grandma was in the store and saw it and talked about wanting to get it for the 2 older GrandSons...Well, I jumped at the idea and started researching Websites all over that offered very High Quality Go Karts many with larger size engines (However), while the prices {Seemed} slightly lower - the price on this one included the Kart completely assymbled (which would have been a MAJOR NIGHTMARE for Grand-Dad. Also, we invested in the Top Scheduled Warrenty so that the personnel will either come to the Store - or - we were told would even come on-site to fix. We're still looking into that. Basically - if you do regular PREVENTATIVE MAINTENENCE (keep covered from rain), Change oil, grease suspension, oil chain etc. This IS IN FACT THE 'ULTIMATE RIDE'...

You need to have a good mechanic
Date:April 1, 2010
I've had one of these for a few years now. It's going to wear out after a while but never fear. As long as you have a good mechanic you're OK with parts. The GY6 engine is very common amongst scooters and parts are all over the internet. Forget the user's manual. Search for GY6 drive belt for example and you're good to go. Be careful to put good quality shocks on for replacements. the plastic ones from Northern Tool are garbage. Be careful about rollovers :)

A better Purchase
Date:March 24, 2010
We purchased the Carbide 150 go cart and we have not had any problems out of the engine, or frame, has a comfortable ride. The only problem we encountered was on a rear wheel, the center section of the wheel started to seperate from the remaining part of the wheel, I guess it had a bad weld.

Have some real fun......
Date:February 24, 2010
This is one vehicle I don't mind putting gas in. I enjoy it more than the rest of the family myself. The grand kids are almost non stop riding it when they visit. Neighbors, friends..... We have 200 miles on it now with no problems. We have 10+ acres and have made go kart trails on the property. Its good clean fun. My wife is threatening to buy another one. Pretty impressive on a couple inches of snow too. Well worth the money. I ordered an ignition module speed reducer from TSC . It was just a bit too fast for our rough terrain. Fits the adults well with the seat and shoulder belts, tilt wheel and adjustable drivers seat. I wouldn't even attempt to make one for this price and quality workmanship.

I bought one of these go carts for my grandson. Used it for 10 days. In the middle of a ride it locked up. Took it back to the store to have it repaired. 21 days go by and it still wasn't fixed. Got my money back. Everyone at the store was very nice and helpful. Heard a different manufacturer started building them. Bought another one and my grandson loves it. So far all is good.

A lot of fun once we got going
Date:February 4, 2010
Bought this Nov. 2009. First one stopped running after a few miles, so we returned it to the store. It had been a return prior to our purchase. Brought home the second one a few weeks later when available and it runs great. A few parts had been installed incorrectly by the local store, but my hubby straightened them out. The speedometer did not work from the time we brought it home, so once the snow got deep and we couldn't ride it anyway we took it to the shop. Had problems getting service under the warranty plan. No one will come pick it up as covered in the plan. So we worked out an arrangement with a local shop to transport it ourselves.
My son flies around in the mud in this cart something fierce and has a great time. We've had 2 people in it at a time with a combined weight over 385 pounds and it still ran strong. I took it on the road and got going so fast it kinda scared me, so I stopped!
If you purchase this and it has a few bugs, it's worth it to have a shop get it smoothed out under the warranty. We've searched for a cart for a long time and this is a good price for a fun cart.

Fun Kart
Date:December 3, 2009
Runs great. only 2 issues so far. After the first few rides, could not shift back to the run posisiton after placing the gears in reverse. Had to shut the engine off inorder to get back into foward. Service support suggested turning the idle down which helped a little, yet still tight. And also engages hard simple going into run after starting. Seems to drop into gear hard. After first drive in rain, noticed a loud squeal from right rear tire. This was the disc brake sqeeking. Placed auto disc brake quieter goop on the disc brake disc and noise went away. Any suggestions on the gears going from reverse to run while stopped at an idle?
