Unless you have some rusty fence wire that this will grip upon, don't bother. I bought this because it was made in USA over the chinesium version. Well, I think I wasted my money.
This clamp couldn't grip wire even if it were covered in super glue and sandpaper.
I could not get the gripper to grip tight enough to put much of a pull on it to keep it from slipping. I tried about 40 different ways to grip it onto the wire, or at least get my best "grip" on it as it were. A few pounds of pull and it would slip after that. Couldn't even get the wire taut.
Don't bother. Get the split ring wire gripper if you want it to work.
